Hi!

I was wondering if anyone know what this sign means?

I tried to find the kanjis in a dictionary, but I am having problems counting the number of strokes. I try to look up using radicals, but I can't recognize them.

I found this kanji: 任
It is similar to the tirhd one from the left, but it doesn't look right..
It makes me think that this sign is maybe written shorthand style (草書体).

The image is from a music video by Otsuka Ai (大塚愛) called 黒毛和牛上塩タン焼680円, but I think it is unrelated to the video.
It appears in the background of a man's apartment. She is in love with this man but she frightens him a bit, since she is very straight forward telling him she loves him and wants to be with him.

    任侠道
;way of life in which the person helps the weak and break the strong.
When I hear the word, the image is charisma and struggler.

In other words, whatever is its etymology, 任侠(道) is associated with ヤクザ nowadays, and the word carries a negative connotation. Unless you are a believer in that particular variety of philosophy, I'd suggest you avoid using it.
