I've found some conflicting definitions in a dictionary for the term 美容. Does 做美容 in Chinese just mean to make oneself more beautiful, or does it have to involve cosmetic surgery?
Thanks! :)

    In my opinion, the word "做美容" usually does not involve cosmetic surgery, which is what the word "做整容" usually refers to.

    修容 <== to remove facial hair.
    美容 <== to apply cosmetics.
    整容 <== to have surgery.
