各位老师好!我想设计一个场景向中国孩子们介绍单词the,这个场景如下:

“在一张图片里面显示一只鸟,在这只鸟的一侧,显示一根手指,手指指向这只鸟。”

然后在图片下面写上:the bird

我不知道这里是不是必须加the。因为在汉语中,如果要表达“看到”了或者“知道”鸟这个事物(在一定范围内,比如周围有父母,有朋友们),只用一个汉字就可以了

    Answer: 不需要
I'm not sure why a vocabulary card about the general concept of birds would have "the" in front of it. In English (unlike most other European languages whose nouns all have grammatical gender, thus making it necessary to include it ("the") so that the learner knows the gender of the noun), writing "bird" should be enough.

Let's see what other people say!

I think it is better to just say "bird". In the US, books for young children do not use "the".
Books for young children just write "bird", "apple", "dog". (鸟,苹果,狗).

"The/a" is part of a sentence. Children only see "a/the" when they start reading sentences.

Before a noun, "the/a" is only used with another determiner isn't used: "my; this; that; his; any"...
