I'd like to discuss the usage of "数量詞+と" phrase because I encountered the phrase "二つ三つと" in the sentence "峠を二つ三つとこえても、まだ海は見えてこない " when I read the story あの坂を登れば. Do the following sentences sound natural?

二つ三つと峠をこえても、まだ海は見えてこない
魚を5匹と釣り上げる(or釣り上げていく)
魚を5匹6匹と釣り上げる(or釣り上げていく)
魚を5、6匹と釣り上げる(or釣り上げていく)
5匹6匹と魚を釣り上げる(or釣り上げていく)
accumulation when time goes by

梅はこずえに、三輪二輪と咲き残っていく
8人7人と生き残る
reduction when time goes by

    Corrections follow:
    魚を5匹釣り上げる

Instances of "reduction when time goes by" don't makes sense in Japanese grammar. To salvage them, rewrite them with different verbs into "accumulation when time goes by."

    「魚を5匹6匹と釣り上げる」に比べれば、「魚を5、6匹と釣り上げる」という言い方の容認度はやや低いかかなり低いか教えていただけませんか。

”(the number) +the numeral + (the number +1) +the numeral +と” is a set phrase.
