My wife purchased a china bowl with markings in Japanese. We would like to know what they mean. The attached picture is from the bottom of the bowl. I am not even sure I have the picture right-side-up.

The image is right-side-up. The signature reads:
琴峰 / 峰之作

It means that theThe the porcelain was made by Hōshi (峰之; alternatively Mineyuki) of the Kimpō factory (琴峰).
