Problems with understanding the subject of 擁し in 全国有数の水揚げ額を誇る博多漁港を擁し

Hello! I don't understand well how this sentence works. It is from a recent NHK news about how some Japan fishes (specific of the Fukuoka) are going to foreign countries to be sold instead of Japan itself.
I don't have problems with the first and the last part. What I understand here is that the journalist went to recollect information about the fresh fishes market to get/see the current situation with their own eyes, so (my translation) "they went to cover the well-known fresh fishes market and even the Nagahama Ramen to try to check the current situation with their own eyes". My problem is with the middle clause, specific with its verb since I don't understand how it can be connected with the journalist (since it is coordinated and there is no another verb which could modify the "market" noun).
I leave the whole sentence here 現状をこの目で確かめようと、全国有数の水揚げ額を誇る博多漁港を擁し、あの長浜ラーメンでもおなじみの長浜鮮魚市場を取材した。

I think the conventional term is 水揚げ高 and not 水揚げ額. I've never heard 水揚げ額 used, though I have not trouble understanding what it means. I get hits for "水揚げ額" on google (3,120 hits) but they are far fewer than "水揚げ高" (27,200 hits) and they seem to be relatively recent.
