Hello, all. It's cooler where you are, I hope. We've had days above 37 degrees here one after another for a couple of weeks.
To the point, often trying to translate something into Japanese it's not so much the kanji I get snagged on but instead katakana used in some idiomatic form. And so it is with this, a manager talking to his actor client:
全タレントの羨望のマトよ!
What is "マト"? Some loanword, I'm thinking, but I find nothing on it. Does anyone know what "マト" is in this instance? Talent's envy of マト?
A second question, please: Is there anywhere that anyone knows of a reliable source of loanwords and their meanings and usages?
Thank you for your time, trouble, and patience.
