I wish to do a tattoo and avoid the mistakes of others in this area.

My idea is this a qustion and an answer form like so:

"Are you a saint" 聖者であるか。

"No, I am a sinner" 否、私は罪人である .

It that right as stated the auto translate engine are very bad .

I know this means a sinner -person 罪人, and this is no 否 but is the context O K.

thanks from advance for any help

  • 聖人「聖者」ですか。いいえ、罪人「罪者」です。
"seishin (seisya) desuka? iie, tsumishin (tsumisya) desu."

well.. are you sure you want a tatoo saying "Are you a saint" "No, I am a sinner" in japanese..
well im a japanese and native in japanese, 聖者であるか。否、私は罪人である sounds OK as a translation but if you come to japan with it then it could sound not that good to us..?
i dont know, well its up to you anyway, but just wanted to tell..

well anyway, exact translation is あなたは聖者ですか? いいえ、私は罪人です。, but for the things such as tatoo, its too formal writing stuff..
so id say 聖者か?否、私は罪人である could be cooler.
