100 percent or nothing

Hello everyone,

Lewis Hamilton describes how he played the computer game with his brother Nic.

"He never used pedals. I use pedals so I can modulate the brake and the throttle, he would just use the buttons on the steering wheel, so he’d brake. So when you press a button, it’s either 100 percent or nothing. And I don’t know how the hell he did it, but he would always beat me. He was so quick."

As I understand you can brake either by using pedals or a button on the steering wheel.
But what does "So when you press a button, it’s either 100 percent or nothing" imply?

Thank you.

The button is either depressed, meaning the brakes are on all the way (100%), or it's not, meaning they're off (nothing).
