30mg PO - Per os (by mouth)

    What's the meaning of PO in this sentence?? It's an admission form, so there's no context. There's a true and false activuty, and it says that the medication was administered intravenously, which is false, since it's "PO" on admission. Can you tell me what does the abbreviation stand for? Thanks.

    Oh... OK! THANKS :) I supposed so, but I mights still have a question: "OS" is Latin, right?? Is it "mouth"? Sorry, this is not exactly a question about English, but I guess you must know, if you use it for this expression. THANKS
