Hi! I'm reading the German text Über Sinn und Bedeutung by Gottlob Frege and in the first part there is this sentence:

"a=a und a=b sind offenbar Sätze von verschiedenem Erkenntniswert..."

I have understand the meaning of it, the only problem is that I do not know how to say in German "a=a" and "a=b". Should I say "a gleich a"? or "a ist gleich a"? or something else??

Thanks in advance :)
