With the word MP3 player you use the article "an" instead of "a"? Does it depend on the pronunciation or is there another reason? thank you for your answer

If the first syllable of the word starts off with a vowel sound, the indefinite article is "an". In this case, the first syllable "em", so you use "an MP3."

I hope this explanation makes sense.
