a bad bit of business

i'm not sure of the meaning of this phrase : "a bad bit of business"
could i say it's like a wrong choice :mauvais choix, or is it more about strategy ? if you have an idea..

    Hi anlorita,
    A "bit of business" is an expression often used to mean "a deal".
    If you bought something for five euros which was worth one euro, you could describe this as "a bad bit of business". In French, "une mauvaise affaire" or "une mauvaise transaction" perhaps?
