a bed was flush

what is been flush? Can't understand even with a dictionary.

"David's room was in the back. It had been cut from the ground with the image of a standard-sized person, and so it felt cramped to him (David is big). A standard bed would have left half a meter between the footboard and the wall; David's was almost flush."

Flush here means up against the wall or almost in this situation.
The head of the bed was against one wall which is normal.
The foot of the bed usually has extra room between it and the wall.
In this room there is very little room left.
Practically speaking both ends of the bed were flush with a wall.
This makes it hard to get from one side of the bed to the other.
Likely, one side of the bed is also flush with a wall.
