a bit too crazy about this

I am describing a hobby of my cousin: "He is fond of reading fictional books. But in our eyes, he is a bit too crazy. As soon as he gets home, he starts his reading. He almost spends every minute reading after work."

I would like to know if "crazy" is suitable here. Is there a better word to suggest when describing one's hobby. Thank you. I want to mean, he overdoes it and is crazy to this hobby.

"Obsessive" or "obsessed" might be clearer than "crazy" if you want to talk about an unnatural interest in something.
