Howdy y'all,

That is to say: a difficult fate to accept

For example: "The employees have already suffered a pay cut, and further reduction of benefits will be a hard/bitter pill to swallow."

amertune, avaler?

Someone get me a glass of cabbage juice -je sèche. Thanks. :)

    Hello David,

A familiar version - at least in Quebec - of egueule's solution would be : la pilule est dure à avaler

Also heard - and something I might say : la pilule est amère.
