a book vs the same book

Does the following sentence work? Should I say "the same book", instead of "a book"?

If you read a book again and again, you always discover new things that you didn't notice in earlier readings.

I think "a book" sounds fine. Saying "the same book" sounds redundant to me because of the words "again and again".

Edit - Just saw Rover's post and now that I think of it, I've heard "read the same book again and again" but personally I'd prefer "the book".
