A brief chat or a little chat

Hello everybody.
Is there any significant difference a brief chat and a little chat?
I think there is no difference , but I want to know native speakers' opinion.
Could you do me a favor and ask this question?

Thank you in advance.

The difference is not in the chat but in the type of conversation you want to use this word in.
The speakers, the setting, the tone of formality/informality will all influence the choice.

A brief chat with your employer
a little chat with the cashier at the supermarket
    just two examples
