Hi everyone,
What's your definition of a "casual remark"?

The bartender made a casual remark about the brawl in the backroom.

I will be grateful if you explain in simple words.

To me, a casual remark is a remark that the speaker has [apparently] no intention of emphasising; a passing reference; a small addition to a conversation; a general observation or something mentioned as part of a larger sentence; a remark that is almost automatic.
