C’était pendant la guerre. La mère du garçon a trouvé emploie à Bordeaux et elle ne pouvait pas y emmener son fils. A cause de ça, elle a laissé l’enfant chez son grand-père.

I want to say 'for this reason'. Is 'à cause de ça' right here, or should I say 'pour quelle raison'?

    Merci d'avance.

Could "pour cette raison" work ?

Hello, 'A cause de ça' is acceptable. C'est pourquoi elle laissa....would perhaps be considered better French., in my opinion.

I agree with Sylber - though à cause de ça is correct, as would be pour cette raison, a lighter form, such as c'est pourquoi..., or simply elle a donc laissé... would probably be better.

Thanks, everyone. It's comforting to know that I wasn't completely wrong, and it's great to learn what would be better!
