"This was part of a challenge I did to take a picture every day for a month."

I can understand if we will say:
"This was part of a challenge I took a picture every day for a month." (common variant)
or
"This was part of a challenge I did take a picture every day for a month." ( "did" as intensive word)

But what kind of grammar rule do we use in my primary example?
Thanks.

The original is a bit awkward. I would say it like this.

"This was part of a challenge I did that required me to take a picture every day for a month."

Your examples are hard to understand. Maybe the first could be fixed by adding "for which". I don't see a way to fix the second one.

"This was part of a challenge for which I took a picture every day for a month.":tick:

"This was part of a challenge I did take a picture every day for a month.":cross:
