a cheque by the banker

    Good morning!

    I need your help again with the term "banker" in the context below:

    "payment of a cheque by the banker upon whom it is drawn"

    My try: pago de un cheque por el banco al que se libera.

    Do you think it is right like that?

    That sure looks like a typo to me. Checks are drawn on banks, not on bankers, as far as I know.

    I tend to agree with UWNN, but if this is a simple typo, then 'upon whom' makes no sense, since it must refer to a person.
    Which country does the document originate from?
