A friend who was in this shop told me that everything was expensive in the shop.

Hi teachers.
I made up this sentence.
I'm not sure.the use of 'who was in this shop' is correct and natural.
I want to say my friend has visited this shop before and he told me that things are expensive in the shop.

Thank you

    Avoid the repetition with this:

A friend who was in this shop told me that everything was expensive there.

A friend who visited this shop told me that everything was expensive there.

A friend who visited this shop told me that everything there was expensive.

    Thank you Copyright.
But do you feel the use of was in this situation is correct?
Is it the same as visited in this situation?
    Thank you

I don't think it's incorrect. It's the sort of thing you might hear someone say, and in the context it would be understood.
