I have translated this paragraph and would like to receive some feedbacks. Many thanks.
Original:
"A general release does not extend to- claims which a creditor does not know or expect to exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which if known by him must have materially affected his settlement with the debtor."

Translation:

bajo el Código Civil del Estado de California Sección 1542, que dice:

“Una exención general no se extiende a reclamos que el acreedor desconoce ni espera que existan a su favor al momento de ejecutar este contrato de arrendamiento, el cual, de ser conocido por él debe haber afectado materialmente este acuerdo con el deudor”. Thanks.

    "Extend to" en terminología jurídica es mejor traducirlo como "prorrogarse".
