    Si on parle de chance, on peut toujours utiliser "considérable" à la place de "beaucoup de" : "Il avait une chance considérable". On pourrait dire aussi "une chance incroyable", "une chance inouïe"...

    Thanks, yes. If it really is just "chance" ( the lotto?) or a distant relation, it could be a "big/huge windfall, according to size.

    Would it sound right to modify the verb rather than the noun, something like il bénéficiait énormément de la chance ?
