a hectic river?

Hi, would you please tell me what "a hectic river" is like?
The context is:
*** River, a somewhat hectic, technical alpine-style river with a steep gradient.

Besides, what does "alpine-style river" mean? Does it mean a river on the mountain?

Thanks in advance.

As "hectic" doesn't appear to be a rafting term, I would imagine that hectic refers to a "busy" river, one that is either moving rapidly or that has many changes in its course within a short distance.
I would guess that alpine-style refers to the qualities that may be called characteristic of rivers of the Alps (hence, perhaps more specific than merely a river on a mountain, though your guess may be correct), which in turn may be related to the concept of a steep gradient. This is merely a guess.
