a huge quantity / a large number of vocabulary

Hi ! I'd like to express a BIG QUANTITY about VOCABULARY. I am not sure if the following sentences are ok.

- a huge quantity of vocabulary
- a large number of vocabulary


Could you please tell me if they sound good and also if you think another way to say it would be better.

    "A large number of vocabulary" is incorrect, because "a large number" can only be used with something countable; "a large number of vocabulary words" would be okay. "A huge quantity of vocabulary" is technically correct, but not idiomatic; if you want you could say, for instance, "a large amount / percentage / portion of English vocabulary comes from French."

    Just say:
    a huge/large/enormous/extensive/etc. vocabulary

    There is no need for "quantity" here (aside from the grammatical reason Chris has mentioned).
