    I've heard it used quite a few times by people here but I don't know of any more famous people it has been used to describe (I'm sure there are many but I'm not really up on that sort of thing).

    Well, I've heard it used in a figurative sense multiple times, but this is the first time I've seen it in print, especially to describe someone famous!

    I've heard it a lot over here, it usually goes something like:
    Bloody hell! that woman is so past her sell-by date.
