A little (bit) more

Hi everyone,

I'd like to know the difference between "a little bit more" and "a little more" (if there is any).

Thanks in advance folks!

I recently asked someone about her business and she replied "Let me tell you a little more about how things work."
I wondered whether adding "bit" here would change anything.

In the BE that I speak, I think "Let me tell you a little more about how things work" sounds neutral. If I add "bit", the speaker might sound a shade more friendly or at least less "distant".
