A lot of hard work will be necessary...

I am trying to say this (in writing - in an email, but not formal):

Despite of - judging by the proposal - how easy it may seem now to see it through, it will be necessary to put a lot of hard work consistently in this project during the next year or so, if we ever are going to benefit from it. Therefore, we'd better reconsider the whole thing now, before further time and resources are committed. We'll need further details. Let me know what are your thoughts on this (in English or German, whatever you prefer ;) )

My attempt

Could you please check the grammar, and if you have any suggestion to make it sound better, I'd be happy to hear. The last sentence as I translated it sounds very dry to me (too direct maybe)...I hope it's not too much trouble.

Yes, you're right about the dativ (in dem kommenden Jahr) and once again, "Arbeit" should be in nominativ when I think better, so you're right about the adjective suffix there as well (-e). Thank you for your effort.
