Does anybody know how "a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do" (I think it was John Wayne in The Green Berets who first said it) got translated? I saw it in Love Actually, and I think the guy said literally "un hombre tiene que hacer lo que tiene que hacer", but I'm not sure, and I don't know if that makes any sense at all. Anyway, my sentence is "a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do". Cheers mil.

That is a correct literal translation. It is not a profound statement. It can be used with any (animate) noun, man, girl, army, etc.
