Hola, quiero saber si henceforth tambien se puede usar para decir "a partir de entonces" ejemplo:

A partir de entonces es un país libre.

Henceforth it is a free country.

se que henceforth es " a partir de ahora" pero... también puede ser usado como a partir de entonces? espero que sí jejeje gracias

"a partir de entonces" means "from then on" and relates to something in the past.

Maximilian was captured in 1867 and, from then on, Juárez remained in office until his death in 1872.

    You could also say
Maximilian was captured in 1867 and, henceforth, Juárez remained in office until his death in 1872.

But you can't really say "Henceforth it is a free country." You could say
"Henceforth it was a free country." if you are talking about some date in the past.

    Glad it makes sense.

Everyone except grammarians should ignore the following -

    [ Theoretically one should say

"Maximilian was captured in 1867 and, thenceforth, Juárez remained in office until his death in 1872."

Because thenceforth is from then on.
    Whilehenceforth is from now on.

But thenceforth is rarely used nowadays. ]

Wow! What a great explanation! That's really useful for me! However, I still have something to ask... The context, in Spanish is: "Si realizáis un pedido hasta mañana (included), os mantendremos los precios anteriores. A partir de entonces (mañana, not included), se aplicarán los nuevos precios". So I wrote: "If you place an order until tomorrow, we will maintain old prices. From then on (?), we will apply new prices".

Could anybody confirm (or amend) this for me?

    Thank you!!!

"If you place an order by close of business today, the old prices will apply. From then on/from start of business tomorrow), we will apply the new prices".
