a propósito / adrede

    I just did some prepositions exercises, and they seem to distinguish between these two words.

    1. Creo que rompió el jarrón adrede.

    2. Los visitó el verines pasado a propósito porque sabía que se encontraría alli con Elvira.

    I am 99.9% sure that a propósito could be used in the first sentence. Could adrede be used in the second?

    Yes, you're right, you can use "a propósito" in the first sentence.

    You can also use "adrede" in the second sentence. They are synonyms..
