    Comment traduiriez-vous "He has a record going back ten years" ? (He has a record going back ten years. Handling stolen goods, possession...)

    Non, il s'agit de son casier judiciaire où il figure les faits qui remontent à dix ans (his criminal record)

    et bien pourquoi ne pas utiliser "son passé judiciare remonte à 10 ans "?

    Oui. Ou bien, presque plus prosaïquement, "il est fiché depuis dix ans"...
