A sexual intensity of pursuit

There's this quote from W.Burroughs.

"There is in fact something obscene and sinister about photography, a desire to imprison, to incorporate,
a sexual intensity of pursuit."

Just a bit unsure of the last one.
Could you say it "a pursuit of sexual intensity"?

Thank you

It is a pursuit, it has an intensity which can be categorised as sexual. I am not sure that your re-wording really captures that. By reversing the word order you make is sound as though there is a search for sexual intensity, not really the same.
