    I think people generally say "a slap in the face". It is a common idiomatic expression, especially when used metaphorically.

    I think as an idiomatic expression, domangelo means something like an insult hurled at you.

    I looked up in my dectionary, and the right expression is "slap in the face".

    slap in the face: light hit to the face with an open hand; insulting action, offensive situation; startling and negative occurrence
