Hey guys, what's a sold out affair? I heard this term in a song and I've not been able to understand what it means. this is the snatch of the song.

I'm not scared of lions and tigers and bears (no I'm not)
But I'm scared of (loving you)
I'm not scared to perform at a sold out affair (that's right)
But I'm scared of (loving you)

Hello JDC. Well, it very probably means a gig or concert for which all the tickets have been sold in advance.

A "sold out affair" would be one in which all of the seats were taken. There would be a large crowd and the room would be crowded. If the singer performed poorly, many more people would notice and be able to spread the word of his incompetence if the affair were "sold out" than if it were poorly attended. Not being afraid to perform at a "sold out affair" is an indicator of self-confidence in his abilities (whatever they are). On the other hand, despite that confidence, he is afraid of "loving you."
