Not until burning away, will a candle cease shedding tears.


HI,

Does it make sense to write "cease spinning its cocoon" when it's supposed to mean "spitting out silks to fabricate its cocoon?"
Besides, is "its cocoon" optional? Thanks.

    It does make sense. You said it just as a native speaker would.

    PS. I think your lines would be better without the commas. Not until death will a...

    You could say Not until death will the spring silkworm cease spinning. I think most of us will understand that silkworms spin cocoons and not something else.
