A. Research has shown the hippocampus to be a structure important for memory formation.

B. Research has shown the hippocampus to be an important structure for memory formation.

D. Neither

    I thought A was correct, but someone told me it was wrong and suggested B instead. I might be wrong, I don't know the grammar behind it... hence I was hoping someone would enlighten me... :)

    A. can be correct if you say, "... a structure that is important for memory formation."
    Hmm... Isn't the 'that is' implied?

    I agree with you, Pilar, on both points—"A" is correct, and "that is" is implied.
