a sucky smile

Hi there !
I've got this sentence :
"He didn't like her smiling in that sucky way"
I'm not sure I get the meaning of it - even though I have an idea... Is it like sickly sweet ?

ps : I have to translate it into French

Yes, sickly sweet like someone who wants something:

Je n'aime pas quand elle sourit en têteuse, être têteux/têteuse is often used in Quebec.

    Bonsoir,
    j'avais d'abord lu sulky: boudeur
mais d'après le Webster sucky est un synonyme de 'awful' datant de 1984.
Je ne sais pas copier le lien, désolée.
peut être est ce comme dans l'expression ' It sucks' ??????

I've got a "sucky date" here. A woman wants to see her date leave her alone :

I am pushing you away, Ron, because you're boring me tot tears. You're a fantastic doctor, you're a sucky date. Now scoot.

Should I say something like :

Tu es un médecin fantastique et une aventure sans lendemain ? / et un petit ami craignos ?
