    En principio es correcto.
    Un número reducido
    Un reducido número
    Un minúsculo número
    (suena forzado)

    Hi everyone!
What a coincidence! I'm reading the same text!! (4 years later)
The whole sentence goes like this:
... These cities also have a mass of secret tunnels and hidden pipes below ground which keep everything working. This other world exists, forgotten or neglected by all but a tiny (1) ............... of engineers and historians.

    a. number
    b. amount
    c. total
    d. few

The thing is I don't know why amount doesn't fit in here!
maybe it has to do with collocation.
I've heard ' a big amount of ...' or ' a small amount' but a tiny amount... I'm not so sure.

    Thanks in advance.
