A top chef would be called...?

What would be the correct term in Italian for a leading chef? As in, when he's addressed formally? Would it be something more than simply, for instance, Signor Giorgio Locatelli? Maestro, perhaps?

maestro sounds good.... Maestro di cucina, cooking is a kind of art... imho obviously, so Maestro suits a master cook

If there are many chefs and among them there is a leading chef, he will be "capo cuoco".

I'm thinking mainly of a situation when someone is, for instance, introduced to you. "Mick, please let me introduce..." Surely it would be more than just "Signor" if you're talking about a chef with Michelin stars. So far Maestro seems to be the one.
