Here is an exchange between two roomates from the American sitcom Two Broke Girls:

Caroline Channing:
Morning! It's a beautiful day!

Max Black:
[while closing the shades on the window] These shades belong down! From now on think of me as a vampire without all the annoying marketing.

It's supposed to be humorous. But I can't get it. What does "a vampire without all the annoying marketing" mean? And what makes the exchange a joke?

Thank you, Keith. Got it. I didn't know "annoying marketing" refers to Coroline's touting of a beautiful day.

Max is a woman. :) I would say she means all the marketing around movie vampires. This is an episode from 2011 around the time of the third "Twilight" movie - people wearing "Team Edward" and "Team Jacob" t-shirts, etc.
