A very happy birthday

Hello all,

I'm making a birthday card for a German speaking friend. My brilliant idea :))) was to have a Venn diagram with cake in one circle, beer in the other and "a very happy birthday" in the middle. I need help with this last phrase.

I'm not really a German learner but I know an attempt by the poster is customary so here it goes: " Ein sehr gut Geburtstag"

Many thanks in advance for your help!

In the diagram, in that place, I might say: Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag!

I fully agree. Standard is Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag! and Alles Gute zum Geburtstag!

"Ein sehr guter Geburtstag"/"Einen sehr guten Geburtstag" is not used traditionally.

    I am thinking about Venn-Diagramm

You can use Eine sehr schöne Geburtstagsfeier!

    (A very happy birthday celebration)
(This includes both wish and statement)

This only if you do not want to use perpend's proposal.

Thank you very much to both of you! I decided to go with Eine sehr schöne Geburtstagsfeier since I think it works best as a statement rather than a wish, which is what I was going for.
