a view on / of the ocean

Hello everyone,

Should I use "on" or "of" in this sentence:

"... from which we had a wonderful view on / of the ocean and the coast"

    A bit late now but for what it's worth...

    I would use "...view of ..." when talking about something you can see, as in your example.

    I would use "...view on..." when talking about opinion, e.g. "What's your view on the economic situation?"
