Hello to all,

I learned a word gas-guzzling which is used for cars that burn a lot of fuel. Is there a word or expression for a home appliance or electronic device that consumes a lot of electricity?

Can I say power-hungry? For example: That new air conditioner is really power-hungry. It consumes a lot of electricity.

Most of the examples I have found with power-hungry are about people

Do you think this works? :

Air conditioners are really power-hungry. Using them will send your electricity bill through the roof.

2 (of a device) using or requiring a lot of electrical power. ‘power-hungry processors’
