I found this in a travel brochure:
****AA RAC The Belmont Hotel is situated on Sidmouth's esplanade, enjoy panoramic sea views.
I did sime research on the net, but I only found the abbreviations AA, RAC without any explanation what they stand for.
Can you please give me a hand with that?
THank you

    They represent the travel guides which have recommended that particular hotel. Both are associations which originally catered for car users, and in fact still do, but which have also published guides intended to help those driving around to choose a decent place to stay.

    AA = Automobile Association

    RAC = Royal Automobile Club

    Hope this helps.

    Q. What's the difference between an AA man and an RAC man?

    A. When you break down and call the AA, the man comes and opens the bonnet and says 'Eh? Eh?' When you break down and call the RAC, the man comes and opens the bonnet and says 'Ah! I see'.

    Yeah, I know, it's pure chat. Delete me at will.

    Thank you,
    I saw these definitions in certain sites, but I wasn't sure if they are the things I am looking for. I liked the joke :)))
