I would like to translate:
Student MUST know their ABC's.

My guess(es):
El estudiante DEBE saber los ABCs.
...or...
El estudiante DEBE saber el abecé. (I found this interesting suggestion...does anyone use that around Los Angeles or in Mexico??)

    Hello Smile784,
    In English we refer to the alphabet as the ABC's, if this is the case in Spanish it would have to be the alfabeto.
    El estudiante debe saberse el afabeto.

    Hi,
    In spanish we convert the ABC (still 3 separated letters in English) in one word... If you say A B C in Spanish would be el abecé.
    But I'd go for a different translation... something like
    El estudiante debe saberlo todo... or... oops... any other suggestion?

    "ABCs " means "the basic or elementary things you need to know about something". For example: For studying accountancy you need to know the ABCs of Maths. (I don't know if I'm good at this. Mend me if I'm wrong, please)
