able to deliver

Bonjour à toutes et tous,

I would like help with this sentence, please:

Many companies have tried to develop an alternative to traditional polypropylene mats, but none have been able to deliver, until now

Deliver here is figurative-- none of the other companies have been able to create an alternative. The translation of deliver in this sense came up as "tenir sa promesse"
Is this correct? Technically other companies have only been trying to create a new product-- they never promised results.

Merci d'avance
