absent-minded vs mindless

Hello!

I'd like to know the nuances between two words, absent minded and mindless.

Q1. Can you make a few sentences that I can use?
Q2. How can I express the state of taking a rest physically, but not relaxing in a happy mood and just sitting without thinking much?

Thank you!

Have you consulted the WR dictionary? If you had you would have realised they have two completely different meanings:

    ˈab•sent-ˈmind•ed or ˈab•sent•ˈmind•ed, adj.
preoccupied with one's thoughts so as to be unaware or forgetful of other matters.

    mind•less /ˈmaɪndlɪs/ adj.
showing, using, or requiring no intelligence:
    a boring, mindless job.

refusing to worry or think about; heedless:
[be + ~ + of] mindless of all the dangers.

    stupid; thoughtless:
    mindless violence.
